I'm gonna say something crazy...

After months and months of working on a very long to do list... today... I officially crossed off my last to do. And with that I am all caught up. For today anyway.

Yesterday and today I shipped off a bunch of orders, worked on some drawings, played with a little paint, and spent the afternoon doing a little paperwork.

Tonight I had dinner with my hubby and girls and was totally focused on them and what they have going on in their lives. Don't get me wrong I haven't been absent at all but honestly I may have been only listening with one ear lately as I put the final touches on my website. I've been feeling guilty for sure!

Today is a good good place to be. It makes me wonder, if I never make another to do list, can I stay in this place forever?

Thankful

It was such a wonderful weekend and i'm happy to say that the new website has been a great success. I wanted to stop in and say "hi" and let you know that i'm busy packing up lots of orders to ship this afternoon.

And then i'm gonna take a little nap... because I am TIRED!!!

More Fall

I made this card for a birthday we recently celebrated at Sizzix. I used a ton of Sizzix die cuts and

 Owls are so popular this season, they are popping up everywhere. The part on the bottom is actually the envelope which is just stitched paper to form a pocket.

Off to find some more owls... maybe for the december kits??? HHHmmmmmm...

Christmas Tags

Just a little public service announcement that christmas is right around the corner. For those of you that got a recent christmas card kit I forgot to post these. But for those of you that didn't grab some punches or die-cuts some scrap paper and you could bust out a bunch of these while watching TV tonight. Keep it simple!

 

Beginnings

Just a quick glimps into a new project i'm beginning. I like to pull out all my coordinating supplies and then I seem to get really inspired.

My hands will be creating something wonderful with these today.

 

Winner + what i've been up to

First things first... Lets get to the winner! Dawn Wagner... Congrats you just won the card from my last post!!! Shoot me an email and i'll send your card right out!

And to answer a couple of questions... I used a dye based regular ink pad from close to my heart and the ribbon was dry within a couple of minutes. If you're wondering what the heck i'm talking about you better scroll down and check out the last post. :)

I have been in the middle of cleaning up an Epic mess. This has really been the mess of all messes. It was entirely to scary to show the entire picture so here are some snapshots!

I've been working on it for several days and have one small pile left. I will be so glad to get through that last little bit. I had to develop a strategy just for this kind of mess. I like to call 20/1. It goes like this... I go in and pick up/throw away/or put away 20 things. Then I go do 1 thing like help with homework... go through the mail... change laundry... eat candy. Then I repeat. It worked pretty well, i'm almost there!

Need a gift idea?

The holidays are coming and I can help you cross a few people off your holiday gift giving list. This idea is perfect for teachers, co-workers, friends or as a hostess gift. I'm super in to practical gift giving so this is extra perfect for me!

Start with a card kit... put it all together in less time than it takes to go to the store... Plus you can wear your pajamas and drink a cup of coffee at the same time. find one here 

 

Next grab some scraps out of your scrap bin that match the cards, a bit of ribbon and a paper bag.

 
Now put some of the paper on the front of the bag, a sentiment and some punched flowers and maybe a button. Add a little ribbon bow. No more than another 10 minutes and you're still in your pajamas! Put the cards and envelopes in side the bag and close it up. A super sweet easy gift for about 10 bucks! Everyone will love it...

 Want to go even more simple but just as cute! Stack the cardsand envelopes up, tie them with some twine or ribbon and put a tag on them. Just as cute and still just 10 bucks... you're still in your jammies! Wouldn't these look so cute on your co-workers desks????

Halloween Beginnings

OK just a bit of business first... but its fun stuff, I promise...

Ok now on the the projects!!!

Today I got started on my Halloween projects and finished up a project I thought up last week. I had bought a bunch of flowers from the market a few weeks back. These greens and mums were the last of the flowers after I had been picking out the dead ones of a week or more. Just as I was about to dump them it the trash I had a thought... wonder if these will work for halloween?

Set myself up a spray area (I'm one project shy of being banned from spray painting by the hubs). Stuck the spent flowers in a box to prepare them for spraying.

 

Got busy spraying the stems silver.

 

Arranged them in the vase I bought on vacation this summer. Added a bow and a couple of black Black Raven Die-cuts.

 

I can see that the spent stems could have used a second coat but after I looked at it awhile I started to like the way the underneath colors were showing through..

 Feeling inspired by the girls at Sizzix to make a whole Halloween display. Got some of the new Girls Paperie you see there in the background today... love the designs.

Get yourself some flowers this week and enjoy them till they are all died up. Then give them a spray for the upcoming holidays. *note I did let mine dry of a day or two out of the water.
