Chalkboard Greetings and a winner

Trendy chalboard art is popping up everywhere so I jumped on board to create this super fun card kit. Let me tell you all about it... Kit includes all the supplies to create 4 cards and 2 Pop 'n Cut cards for a total of 6 cards. Also included are supplies to make 2 tags. Full color copies, artist highlight and chalkboard technique handout and envlopes also included.

** Note ** while I did use a red white and blue color palette these cards are for general greetings like Happy Birthday, Celebrate and Friendship. Ther is an optional Happy 4th of July and Happy Fathers Day sentiment included. Get yours HERE

 

Meet my friend Karen Burniston... Karen is a licensed artist at Sizzix and she designs the super popular Pop 'n Cut Cards. I've had the pleasure of working with Karen on her last few releases and i've totally fallen for her card designs. Karen does an amazing job of designing dies to coordinate with the Pop 'n Cut cards. This month i've created two Pop 'n cut cards to include in the Chalkboard Greetings kit. I just bet you'll fall in love with them just like I have.

 

I also created a banner for the upcoming holiday "AMERICA" Banner

Kit comes with all the supplies to make this easy to assemble "AMERICA" banner. Banner can be used for Memorial Day or 4th of July. Color copies and directions provided. Each letter panel has a 4"x6" base. Included: Patterned paper panels, printed letters, printed sentiments, buttons, ribbon, twine. All you need is scissors and adhesive. Ink is optional. Throwback Thursday

Thought i'd dig up some old posts for throwback thursday for the next few weeks. I'm just going to take a look and see what moves me.

Normally we would be getting all excited right about this time of the year because it would almost be time for horse camp. My girls waited for all of their preschool years to be old enought to attend Project Noah horse camp. And once they were old enough they attended every summer, for 4 weeks, for the next 8 years... Niguel worked the last two summers as an assistant leader and Kylah would have done the same this year.

This camp was amazing for my girls where they could be with every kind of farm animal known to man all day long, in beautiful O'neil park, and ride horses, and get filthy dirty, and cry when it was all over each year. I should mention that the large majority of horse at the camp were rescued from some kind of abusive situation. Many were VERY  VERY old, with special needs and special diets. The kids loved on them and they loved the kids.

Unfortunately, the camp was disbanded after last year. It was an emotional summer, 2 of the horses had to be put down. The other horses were rehomed after camp.

And this year we are left with a BIG hole in our ususal summer plans... NO HORSE CAMP. Boo!

This was our favorite horse... DW. He was a playful little guy.

If you didn't click over here's what I said about the photo in my original post... "Two peas in a pod here... Kylah and DW... mischievous, full of personality, love nibbles, playful, and a bit on the not mature side."

*sigh* And so we are left with our memories... many of them!

Card Giveaway Day

It's been awhile since i've done card giveaway day. I have to fess up, about the reason I stopped doing it. It's because the number of comments have dwindled down to almost nothing. It's hard to believe that no one wants a free card. Really, I know you do, so leave a comment today, won't you please.

I've noticed alot lately that comments, even on some really popular blogs, just aren't coming in like they used to. Almost everyone has gone to requiring a verification to leave a comment. I held out doing it for so long, but I was starting to get nearly 20 spam comments per day... Some of which we not suitable for the eyes of my readers. Sorry, I know its a pain! Spammers... they always ruin a good thing.

Just leave me a comment today and tell me what you're looking forward to the most this summer. I'll pick a winner for this Flip It Card and post Saturday morning.

Card Love

Where is the time going? Is this really the last week of May? Wow...

Highlighting the final two cards from my MAY KIT today. There are still some available in the SHOP if you'd like to take a peek.

I've had this Sundae die cut for ages and I was never really feeling the shape of the ice cream scoops, then I had a moment of genius and combined it with my old friend the cupcake die and as a cupcake I loved it. As soon as I put that chocolate on top I knew it was perfect. Weird, I know.

I just love telling you all the behind the scenes of how I decide on things. I've had this polka dot ribbon on my craft table just begging to be used, but how? It's 2" wide which kind of rules it out for being tied in a bow or knot around a card. Hello to Huge! Lay it flat across the card like its a patterend paper? Hello Boring! Awwww, but fold it and use it like its an award ribbon? Um, Yes Please!

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend. I'm planning to head out to my craft room and clean that place up. Again! *sigh*

Card Love

Time to shine some love on my May Cards... Always takes me a week or so after all the kits have shipped to really get behind the scenes and wrap up all the necessary loose ends. Now i'm ready to love on them and tell ya all about them...

Everybody loves these mini 3x3 cards, so I thought i'd start here.

I was inspired to use these adorable flashcard style greetings and sentiments this month. They really hit a spot for me with their messages. 

"Appreciate" sometimes we just forget to go to that place where we feel deep appreciation for someone and make a mental note of what our life would be like without that someone.

I've been going to that place alot lately, trying to be really intentional about the things I appreciate about some people in my life. Especially when I feel like choking them, which has been alot lately.

Oh and this month, I added coordinating sentiments for the insides of the cards. It's something I do off and on but, I think it's a keeper for the kits.

Everyone needs a party card right? This one couldn't be cuter with the punched balloons and hand drawn strings. My favorite red and white twine, which I was down to less that a yard of. Good news, I was able to find some online and am back in the plenty.

Bringing it Back

I'm bringing it back! Last night I met up with my best creative pal Steph and we scrapbooked! **GASP** ( I know, huh!)

I'm working with the project life pages AND I created both these pages using the last two months CARD KITS... Dreamy Greetings and Flashcard Greetings. Always looking for ways to encourage you to get creative with kits. I pulled a few of the papers and embellishments to create these pages and then with the rest I made some cards. The above two kits coordinate perfectly. Both these kits and many more are still available in my SHOP.

Getting set to do this again today! I'm a Scrapbooker again!!!

To all the Mommas

Hope you all had a wonderful mothers day... I had a perfect day. Stayed in my pajamas for most of the day. Surfed the web, snuggled with the girlies, made some stuff (i'm totally addicted to something new and i'll share later this week).

Perfectly simple... then we had dinner at my favorite mexican place and hubby did a photo shoot for us. Check out how much these girlies have grown.

Really enjoyed my day and being a momma to these girls of mine. XOXO
