Looking for a new way to color your embossed designs? Heres a new way I tried out this week. Peel the paper away from a crayon. Using the side of the crayon rub it all over the embossed design.
It's really that simple. It worked beautifully. Looking forward to trying it out again and blending several colors together. A little german glass glitter...
Some seam binding, roses and a sentiment bring it all together.

Earlier this week I was blogging over on the Authentique blog. Thought it was high time I get off pinterest and blog this adorable Mothers Day gift idea here on my own blog.
Seriously.... Isn't Pinterest the best thing ever and the biggest time sucker ever all at the same time! Man, I thought I wasted hours on facebook... that's nothing compared to the time I spend on Pinterest!
I digress... here's my project. Begin by painting the edges of an old book. Remember to paint the insides but don't worry about the whole cover... that will be covered by paper.
Using some Mod Podge attach some pattered paper to the front and back covers of the book. You can sand down the edges to finish it off nicely. Slice an opening in the spine and thread through some seam binding and tie in a bow. Add a button and twine. And a cardstock mat for your photo.
Embellish the rest of your book with some sentiments and rolled roses. Don't forget a special picture.

I've been working away making projects for each and every new Thinlit die that Sizzix released at CHAW. It's been a major undertaking... Here's a few of the latest
Luckily i've been doing a little cheating and using the embellished dies that were created for packaging... #savingsomuchtime . The details the Thinlits can cut are incredible, super delicate!

This past Sunday I spent 11 hours cleaning my craft room. It was such a gigantic pit of cr**! There were layers and layers of kit leftovers, mail, school papers, sutff to sell, new kits I was making and sorting, paint and dirty paint brushes. Every time I moved in there it set off an avalanche of paper.
Here are the befores...
See those lovely ladders hangin on the wall. Doesn't every girl just dream of ladders in her craft room? Well, once I finally got the place cleaned up I added a new muslin fabric wall. My hubby made me some custom poles with rings on the end to pull the fabric through. They worked out perfectly and make my space look so much more beautiful!
And I took down all my Valentine decorations and add my new Spring decorations to my crate shelves.
My space is already a mess again since I took these photos yesterday... but kits must be shipped and i've promised myself to clean it up as soon I get home from the post office!
