Post Christmas

I happen to love these post Christmas days. My girls are home from school... no homework. Lots of time for movies and enjoying this amazing weather we have been blessed with this past week.

I am doing alot of thinking about what I want for the coming year, for myself and for my family. I was out walking the other morning and I got this overwhelming feeling that this next year was going to be amazing. But it won't come by chance. So i'm following that feeling and figuring out just exactly what paths I want to take.

And we've been organizing. Hubby built me some shelves in our master bedroom closet. They hold all my photo albums, photo boxes and scrapbooks. I love that they are ALL together. Previously they were all around the house. Three here, two there, one under the bed, two in the hall closet. Such a simple solution to a big problem for me. Now I plan to rotate out a couple scrapbooks at a time so we can enjoy them. God bless handy and willing hubbies!

Last night I conquered the laundry room. A catch all of miscellaneous junk. Felt so good to put in some laundry this morning and I didn't have to step in a box of gift bags to get to the laundry soap. Peace!

As soon as I finish typing this i'm off to work some more in my craft room. It is still a huge mess since the installation of the floor. I have however set up a system for sorting all the great scraps of stuff. So start preparing yourself for more mega boxes of goodies coming to the blog soon.

Geez, I think thats just about enough blabbing for one day! I'll leave you with two of my favorite photos from the year.

Silly Girls

We headed out to take some christmas photos today... Here are a few funny out takes.

This last one is so funny... It was the last one we took and Niguel was all done with her little sister.

We got one great shot, and alot of really good ones. I started and finished my Christmas cards today! Nothing like waiting till the last minute, but they are in the mail and thats all I have to say about that. I'll share in a few days once the cards are delivered.

I know I said I was going to do a card give away on Tuesday... Isn't it still Tuesday? Like the third Tuesday in October??? I think thats where it all went wrong for me. This season has come on like an avalanche.

Just some stuff

I 've been making... Today is Christmas shopping day and tonight i'm having a get together with some friends to work on handmade gifts.

My girls can now check ride a camel off their wish list.

We just had a beautiful day at the Camel Dairy. Fed the camels some pomegranates, saw a bird show, met Byron the pig, gobbled with the turkeys, soaked up some warm sun and enjoyed each other.

Maybe this isn't everyones cup of tea but my animal loving girlies were in heaven.

The camels didn't even spit on us!

A Home...

A good friend of mine just got a new home... It got me thinking about when I got my first new home. I was so excited and so pregnant. It was a very special time, and we spent years and years making it a home. We feathered our nest with two little girlies and filled it full of things we love.

And now... 14 years later we are starting all over. Getting new floors, painting walls, replacing base boards that have been terrorized by toddlers and all their toys. What alot of work.

And it got me thinking... about how all things need a little sprucing up now and then. Like my little blog home here. I'm feeling like it needs some sprucing up, and it needs me to give it a little extra love. I've been slacking, but honestly i've been up to something big that is taking up ALOT of my time. It's big to me not to all of you... and i'll share sometime in the future.

So i'm going to have to carve out a little time to make my blogging a little more regular again.
