Thanks for the blogging ideas. I'll definitely share my story about how I came to work for Sizzix and everything I get to do there. That's alot of fun! And after all the Christmas comments i'm thinking I may have to jump right into Christmas around this ol' blog. Watch for those posts coming up.

Here's what i'm up to today... no particular order...

1. Healing my finger, we're almost fully recovered. Thanks for all your sweet comments. 

2. Doing shoulder exercises. My right shoulder has been acting up, I saw someone about it today.

3. Taking my vitamins. I've been slacking on my Iron.

4. Going to lunch with friends. Every Wednesday the kids have short day so we all go out to lunch. It makes me feel so young when there are emails and texts going around all morning about who's in/who's out. And if someones out for the day what the heck they're up to because it sure must be interesting. Where should we go. All the good dishing that goes on... husbands, kids, teachers (of course its all good because I keep good company). It's so much more for us mommies than for the kids. 

5. Working on Christmas Card Kits. Probably should turn on some holiday tunes to get in the mood.

6. Starting to pack for a little weekend get away. Uuuuggg and laundry for said trip.

7. Looking forward to talking with my Mom to hear about her trip to Oregon on the train. She went with her sister and my 86 year old Grandma so I bet she has some funny stuff to tell.

Just the usual, a busy day full of good stuff~ Hope you enjoy your day too!

Card Give Away Day

The other day I just went for it in my craft room. Got out a bunch of things I haven't used in a while. Sepia toned glossy accents (on the word halloween). The distresser blade (on the edge of the pattern paper). Silver glass glitter, tea dye stain, giant rhinestones, velvet ribbon and about a million other things that didn't make the cut... I made a huge mess and stained my fingers but i'm happy with the results. Today i'm gonna give away this card so one of you can enjoy it! What Would You Say?

Ky: Mom, Can I have some corn nuts?

Ky: Mom, Today can I get some corn nuts?

Ky: Mom, do we need to get gas? If we do can I get some corn nuts there?

Ky: Mom, do you remember on vacation when we got those bbq corn nuts? Those were good, we should get some more. Mom, can we get them today?

Ky: Mom, corn nuts are good for you they are part of the vegetable and protein group.

Niguel: Mom, would you buy her some stinkin' corn nuts so she'll give it a rest already!

Ky: Mom, I love corn nuts.

Ky: Mom, we need to stop at Target dusty needs more dog food. We should get some corn  nuts too, I think they have ranch corn nuts.

Niguel: Ky i'll give you 5 bucks if you shut up about the corn nuts for the rest of the day!

Ky: I like to talk about corn nuts. I already have 5 bucks. Mom, can we get some corn nuts?

Mom: Yes, we'll get some dang corn nuts as long as I get two so I can stuff them in my ears.

I love her and love every one of her corn nutty questions.

Card Give Away Day

Totally getting into Halloween around here. So today's card give away is Halloween themed. Just loved this new paper from Fancy Pants. The little bat is just right, not to creepy but not to cute either.

To ER or not to ER

that is the question... Lets back up just a bit. Last Friday Creative Cards welcomed a new employee. I had great hopes for this employee, that they would be able to lighten my load and generally make things easier around here. Saturday we were enjoying the activities of World Card Making Day together... reading all the comments, preparing kits, and talking about who would win the big prize. Then this new employee did something that has damped our relationship. I'm not sure we'll be able to work together anymore.

Let me introduce you to the new employee...

That's right a new guillotine cutter. I've never owned one for fear of exactly what happened.

I cut the top of my right index knuckle right off! I assure you that the laser guide did not indicate that I was going to cut off my knuckle.

 I called in the hubby because this is just his kind of thing. We decided that a trip to the ER for stitches was not necessary? I'll spare you the pictures. I think he took a little pleasure in doctoring me up from this kind of wound. I can't even tell you the number of times he's nearly cut off a finger tip or smashed a finger to smithereens. Usually he reserves this kind of thing for right before we are about to go away on a big trip.

Luckily I am right-handed so I haven't been slowed down to much.

This weekends activities have been a blast. I've poured over the comments and welcomed so many new Creative Cards Homeschool members. I hope that many people that have visited this weekend will continue to stop by and check out my blog each day. Tomorrow i'll be giving away a card for my usual Card give away Tuesday. So here's how they work together... First the card bases, fun shapes that you just won't get from folding and cutting. Now check out the top 6 die sets. The star, bird, heart, and the party hat, present and cupcake all fit inside of the card with the little hole. They also fit on top of the scallop circle, square and bracket shape which fits inside of the circle cut out card. The flower set fits perfectly over the flowers on the gate fold card.

Now check out the stamps. The circle sentiments stamp around the circle cut out card. The straight sentiments work with the larger label set (which layers). The flowers stamp over the flower dies perfectly. And the swirls, those babies outline the swirl dies so beautifully.

Beyond working together for cards they would all work great seperately for many crafting projects.

There are so many possibilities with this card line.
