Simple

This weekend I worked on a project for Sizzix that's due tomorrow and I thought I'd share it. Thisis probably my favorite picture from our vacation last summer. It was taken in Olympic National Park. The purple Lupine flowers were stunning, shoot the whole vista was breathtaking. But when I look at this picture I hardly notice them because I look at my two babies. Definitely my very best creations!!! Everything about this day we spent was simple, we had no time schedule, no where to be, no phones, no TV, no internet or email. Just us being simple and enjoying our family.

     

This is Fine Frenzy Alphabet and Flourishing Frenzy Alphabet stamps. Isn't it cool how the letters fit right inside the stamps! Watch for these products, they should be out in a month or so. And on a side note... another thing to do with your die-cuts, don't miss those subtle swirls cut from the same color of background paper. They don't look like much but take them away and you'll see how much they add.

Today i'm cleaning up the craft room... again. I'll take pictures today because its extra bad. Just signed the girls up for open gym this afternoon. Yeah... 2 hours of peace and quite for me and hubs, they think they are the ones getting the extra special treat!

Two Days Worth of Blogging

Some days blogging just doesn't get done. Just like lots of other things. The way I see it i'm just thankful to God that i'm here today to blog and show you all my creations. So let's get on with it...

Another One Bites the Dust

If you have or have had an 11 year old girl you will sympathize with this post. I only have one "nice" picture of Niguel and it is posed. Every other picture that was taken she and or her friends have their tongues out, flashing the peace sign with their hair covering their eyes, being down right weird and dorky. And lets not even talk about how often girls of this day must not wear dresses. Seriously I made a mental note to make Niguel wear more dresses and teach her to keep her legs closed! Honestly!!!!! I had half a mind to post the pictures but sadly I was to embarrassed and have decided to edit them into her wedding video someday. Here's the icing on the cake... when I asked her at dinner if she would play again next year she told me "i'm going to do whatever my friends do". Picture me... face in palms looking through my fingers at hubby who is shaking his head and asking "so if your friends jump off a bridge you will too"? And I think... it's happened we've turned into our parents. Good lord help me because I get to do 11 again next year with the darling Kylah and i'm fairly confident that 12, 13, 14, or 15 will not be any easier! I swear if she wasn't an honor student i'd probably curl up in a closet somewhere and dream about a time before she was possessed by aliens puberty.

But in my little perfect corner of the craft room where all is peaceful and just the way I like it samples of Everything Sweet projects are coming along. So happy with how they are turning out. Definitely pictures of those tomorrow.

One Great Weekend

So I didn't post any creative stuff over the weekend. Forgive me... My weekend was just so full of fun and happiness and relaxing. Love three day weekends! Hubby painted our bathroom, we saw Night at the Museum, Kylah had a play date, we had some one on one time with Niguel, we slept in every morning (boy we needed that!), I got lots of stuff in the craft room organized, planned out some stuff I want to do over the next month or so, talked with new neighbors, worked a little on Sizzix projects, ate out way to much (but enjoyed it), finished off the night with a little TV time and snuggling. 

And now I have officially started samples for my next class. Watch this week as "Everything Sweet" comes to life. Here's the first sneak peek...

Holiday

Happy Memorial Day! Hope you enjoy a day off.  My craft room has been in desperate need of cleaning. I've been sorting out boxes of extras from past classes and getting things in order. Hasn't been very much time for creating anything new. Maybe tomorrow. Have a smiley day!

Shrub Scene class (as named by teacher)

I haven't attended a class in a long long time, today I got to be on the other side of teaching. This teacher is a little strict and doesn't allow much creative interpretation. Apparently she is very offended by any variations on her design. You also may not move ahead in class before you are instructed. The typed out instructions said that you must do this under parental supervision so Randy and I had to call our Moms. Fortunately we were given the OK by the teacher that our skills were adequate enough to participate in the class. Her kits were very organized and it was nice that all our pieces were cut to size. She also had her sample project nicely displayed for reference. Here are some shots I took from class.

Hello Friends

Could someone please email me some witty blog titles, mine are Boooorrring. Brace yourself i'm about to ramble. This morning went something like this... You know that feeling where you're on a rollercoaster and as you finish the ride it comes to an abrupt stop and your head slams against the headrest. Well that happened to me in a life/mommy/wife/friend/employee sort of way this morning. I haven't been able to sleep past 2am for a while now. My head overflows with ideas, to-do lists, things I forgot, and on and on and on. I felt myself wanting to get off this crazy rollercoaster and blast back to the old days where I would get up and my biggest concern for the day was what park I was going to take the girls to. Simple times, times I thought were hectic and busy with two babies 15 months apart. Now my days are filled with creative time while the girls are at school and I love it. But today I was ready to get off the ride. But instead something awesome happened, I got an email that lead to a phone call and before I could get off the rollercoaster it took off in that eyes peeling back, cheek fluttering way. Sometimes you just need one more thing on your plate to keep you going.

As things develop and I find out just what my part will be I'll share. But i'm not one of those crafty bloggers that keep you hanging forever wondering what it could be. That drives me nuts, it has to do with This. So excited for all the joy it will bring. 

I did do something creative today... made 4 simple cards for someone to give to someone. Want to be that someone? Leave me a comment today and i'll pick someone tonight.

One sweet day

Isn't he the cutest thing ever! I got to spend lots of time with him today. This is Dietrich, my cousins little guy.

He is just so sweet to be with.

He's funny

He loves to jump

He loves to put bark in drains

He wants to ride other peoples bikes

He's pretty awesome at wiffel ball for being 2

He's polite and affectionate

He loves Niguel and Kylah, and they can't get enough of him

He likes french fries

He's our family ...

And we will miss him when he goes back home. My cousin Eric, his wife Josie, and "D" live in Ukraine. They do amazing missionary work there.

But this little guy is their best work yet! Don't you just want to eat him up!

It was one sweet day for sure!
