I admit that three years ago I had barely touched a die-cut. Now that I have been crafting for Sizzix I can barely imagine a project without some kind of die. I thought i'd take a moment to share with you a few easy steps to make your die cut look great!
Step 1 - Die-cut the shape from several colors of cardstock.
Step 2 - Cut the beak and legs off the blue die-cut and attach it to the yellow die-cut. Sandwich a piece of black between the blue and yellow for the eye. Now outline the body with Prisma water color pencils.
Step 3 - Go over the water color pencil with a water pen or wet paint brush. I outlined the whole body with the water pen and then I colored in the whole wings. I love the water color pencils because they are so forgiving. Now you have an embellished die to use on a project like the card below!
Here are the water color pencils I use.
Add some feather and flowers to the tail for even more fun!

The blue bird reminds me of the yellow bird at the beginning of the Partridge Family Show- sooooooooooo cute!
