7 random facts about me........(Deena)

1. I hate black dress socks on men. Unless they are wearing a very nice suit and have their shoes on. (I know its weird, I just realized this a few weeks ago)

2. I love to be at home (because I am a cancer), but I spend alot of my time at home planning trips and places to go because I love to travel (because I have Aries rising). Note I used to have a good friend that was really into astrology, so I know where all my planets are.

3. I am a sleep in late and go to bed early kind of person.

4. I love a regular coke from Mc Donald's and try to give them up at least every other week.

5. I can't stand to have dry feet. Most get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom but not me, I get up to put lotion on my feet.

6. I say alot of bad words.  And i'm not proud of it.

7. I have crappy, peely, dry, ragged, torn up finger nails. Bad genes!

Cooped Up

We've been cooped up in the house for oh, I don't know 5,6,7, or so days now. We haven't been out much because it smell like and old ashtray. School was closed Thursday and Friday and tomorrow is a previously scheduled holiday.  Mostly we have been using this time to watch the fires from our windows and on the news and be super thankful that we have a house to hang out in. These are pictures of the girls from last weekend but we are planning to run wild like this again soon! We also used this time to get super creative with some projects and get caught up on some work. Tomorrow I will download pictures and post creative stuff.

Here is a picture that a friend sent me from a man made lake a couple of miles from our house. This was Tuesday night. This night we we also went to a lookout to watch the fire and a coyote ran right beside us. His tail nearly brushed Kylah's leg. She was looking the other way and barely saw it. Thank goodness because she probably would have wanted to pet it.

Hopefully this week returns to normal and people will be allowed to return to their homes. It has been quite around town for sure! Have a god one!

Family Fun Weekend

Here it is again...Sunday night. I always dread this time of the week because it means back to making lunches, doing laundry, dinner, driving to school and back, working, deadlines and lots other responsibilities. I love being a mom and I love to provide all the loving momminess for my kids and husband, but what I really love is when the weekend comes and its time for the fun! This weekend was packed with fun! Friday night I got to "GO" scrapbooking, not work at a crop. I got to participate. To make it even more amazing I actually did some crafting and scrapbooking of my own! Going with Patsy is always sure to be full of laughs but then add in to more good friend from school and it was a recipe for gut busting laughter. I'm sure we annoyed everyone around us! Here is what I did minus the scrapbook page which needs journaling and then I'll post it.

A Wall hanging for my Grandma. Not her birthday or anything, just because I love her and she has three of the most beautiful great grandchildren.

A frame for my Aunt Cindy. She was 60 this past week, and I can tell you that she does not in anyway look 60!!! That is her Grandson in the picturere and in the picture with my Grandma. He lives in the Ukraine with his parents who are missionaries. We were so lucky to have them visit for Dietrich's first birthday. I used Sizzix dies for the leaves and glittered them then attached some flowers and other embellishments.

I got a few fun shots of the girls in my moms yard the afternoon sun was casting a gorgeous light. And were were visited in the yard by these cute critters.

Tonight we headed to the Pirate Dinner show. It was fun and the kids really enjoyed it. Even thought Kylah felt squished and wouldn't eat her dinner because she couldn't see it. AAARRRGGG! But thanks to Grandma Marni we all were treated to a fun time together with Randy's side of the family.

Then on the way home We came upon this. Those yellow lights under the green signs are the first responders to what has grown to be a huge fire not to far from out house. God Bless all the firefighters who are fighting the fires in So. Ca. Prayers going out to them and all their families and anyone in the path of one of these fires.

Whew! I told you it was a busy weekend! Thanks to those that placed Christmas card orders. All but one has been delivered. I hope you all enjoy them.

Yes, Its almost time for Christmas!

So I promised you all another post. I almost finished kits for Tuesday nights Christmas card class. Last fall I had a few custom Christmas card jobs and they were alot of  fun to do. I enjoyed seeing how excited the clients got and later hearing about how much all their recipients loved them. So this year I thought I'd make a bit of time to do a few more. So if you are interested here are two designs that I am offering.

The first...

This is a 5x5 card. Deep Red base, glittered dove, sheer white ribbon, Merry Christmas stamped sentiment on green mat. Flower may vary (very slightly in size or color, depending on availability. Inside is white stamped " May your days be Merry and Bright". Includes clear envelopes to showcase your handmade card that can be mailed. *note there will be additional postage to mail square cards.

The second...   This is an A2 standard rectangle card it is 5.5x4.25. White base, scalloped red border, stamped on outside "Celebrate the wonder of the season" on a green mat with red sheer ribbon, glittered snowflake on red circle, inside is stamped "from our family to yours, Merry Christmas". Includes clear envelopes to showcase your handmade cards.

50 Cards for $64.00 plus shipping. If you need more than 50 let me know and I can send you a quote. Don't fall over, I am fully aware that there is no way this can compete with the off the shelf cost from Target. But I assure you that if you have ever made handmade cards you will know that the cost of supplies and your time would far surpass this cost. World Card making Day

Happy World Card Making Day!

Where have I been you ask???? Well lets just say that time has been passing really quickly. Today when I logged on I couln't believe it had been nearly a month since my last post. So many times I have vowed to keep up more and post more often. However my family has this need to eat, be driven to school, to have a homework supervisor, to have clean clothes, there have been a tons of deadlines (one right after the other) it has seemed and on and on and on. Nothing that every person that reads this blog doesn't have. But I have to tell you that I have been feeling pretty blah lately. I have been zapped big time by the low energy virus. I know that if I got a little more exercise and ate a little better that would help but I have been here before and this seems like something more than the basics. I'll be checking into getting some blood test and a physical next week. You can never be to safe.

Anyways... Today make some cards. It feels so wonderful to receive and give a handmade card. Theres nothing like using your personal creativity to put in a little extra effort and make it from your heart. Over the last five and a half years I have spent alot of time developing a card class at Timeless Treasures. Every month I teach a Creative Cards class that has become like a family to me. Every month there are those who I see every couple of months, those that are new comers, sometimes my friends or neighbors and those that never miss a class "my regulars". I appreciate each one of them for coming to spend their time with me every month. If you want to join our little family call Timeless and sign up for one of my upcoming classes.
