April 2013 - Creative Cards

Spring is in full bloom here... I know some of you are having an extra long winter, I hope spring comes for you soon! This month I've focused on these amazingly delicate doily shapes on several of the cards and i'm in love with the florals and wood tones. So pretty!  I hope you enjoy them too and please let me know if you have any questions... Here's some tips....

*** Note, several of the of the patterned papers use both sides so check both sides and for this card below the patterned paper is big enough to fit this card. The smaller one you'd use the chevron side. There was a little confusion about that in class so I thought i'd mention it.

*** I'l also mention here that I did add some distressed edges to the cards and papers using a brown/grey ink. Specifically I used Tim Hotlz "Pumice Stone".

*** One more thing, You can use the bracketed sentiments interchangeably.

Card 1- Attach the larger of the two floral patterned papers to the pre folded card. Add some pink ink to the edges of the doily and attach. Trim sentiment and attach with pop dots. Wrap ribbon around card and tie in a bow. Attach pink crystal. Add twine to button and attach. This card has a white envelope.

Card 2- Fold white cardstock to form card base. Attach patterned paper. Trim sentiment and mat with  precut wood strip, attach, you will need to trim the edges. Double up twine, wrap around card and tie in a bow. Attach the die cut branch. Use the polka dot circle and the black circle to place behind the birdie die cut. Color the birdies legs black and attach with pop dot. This card has a white envelope.
