I thought i'd share this little poppy I drew on vacation...
Messed around with him on photoshop a little bit and worked out this perfect background to compliment it... One of those happy accidents.
Coming to a card soon! Just on a side note I was totally in love with all the wild poppies we saw growing all over on vacation! Beautiful!

If you hadn't noticed my absence and inconsistent blogging, i've been on vacation. Vacations are wonderful for clearing your head and re-energizing. It was a very much needed vacation!
Now i'm back at it... blogging, making new kits, teaching classes, making projects, even practicing my drawing.
Today I'm getting started on the new August kits... I'll be at it all day the next couple of days to get them all prepared. Just FYI... the July kits sold out the first week of July so please sign up for my newsletter (over on the right sidebar) so you'll be the first to know they are available.

These two spent every minute joined at the hip. Exploring, hunting, riding, swimming, watching, sleeping, just being super good cousin friends.
I had a vacation within a vacation since this one was so busy doing all of the above with her cousin. She's usually alot of work, pretty demanding, tries my patience, works my last nerve on a daily basis, drive me nuts with those dimples and questions... God, the questions!
I mentioned braces right? This makes me laugh!
Wonder if I could get some cheap tickets and fly back up for a day or two... I'm ready for aother vacation!

Found this quote today and thought it's about time to check on the old heart. Really connect and see if any ugliness has crept in lately. If so... time to let it go. There is no room in my heart to hold any bad feelings... i'm working on filling it up with love and creativity and imagination and compassion. Really working HARD on that last one.
I'm also trying to pull out some old art supplies and get my hand reacquainted with drawing and coloring. This seemed like the perfect time to write out the quote and do some coloring with watercolor pencils.
Then of course I wanted to make a card so I need a sentiment for said card. More handwriting and coloring resulted in this fine masterpiece.
Meant to add some tiny pearls to the flower centers but I got in a rush to run outside and see the new baby in the neighborhood.

So glad its Friday! Friday is my happy day! The first week back to school was super busy as they always are. Stunned is the only word to describe how I felt last night when I downloaded pictures of the girls from the first day of school. I just can't believe that this is Niguel's last year in elementary school. Seems like yesterday was her first year of preschool.
Arrrgggg... better get back to the crafty stuff before I start to cry...

See Ya Summer...
These are our final days of summer vacation. It's been a long 12 weeks of summer and we are all ready for school. New backpacks, new school supplies, new clothes and shoes, and a pantry full of yummy lunch supplies.

I can't... Stop listening to this Have You Ever. On Alis blog last week I linked up to her song "The Story" which I also love but Have You Ever is my favorite. It just makes me happy... Maybe I should take up yodeling, but my voice stinks!
I tackled... a monsterous to do list this weekend. Feels good to take care of many loose ends.
I need... so many things, but I think i'm going to take some good ol' lovin' from my girls this morning.
I want... to go on a crusie to Mexico again this fall, but hubby wants new tile for the house. Boring!
I made... a whole bunch of stuff this weekend. Like this...

Thought i'd share some shots from our vacation... the first couple days. Portland... some crazy donuts with cocoa puffs and oreos and peanut butter. Astoria, Oregon. Spokane River in Idaho. Multnohah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. Mount St. Helens. My new barn (I wish).
This vacation presented many photographic challenges for me. The biggest being that since our last vacation both my girls have started wearing glasses on a full time basis. It's made it really hard to get a good shot as I work this kink into my long list of other photography kinks. Still the glasses is second to my biggest photo nemesis... the "another picture"! I was pretty happy to get the shot below.
Today i'm still working on Christmas Cards, hopefully i'll wrap it up early this morning and be able to share some sneak peeks tomorrow. Have a smiley day!
