Todays project

I don't like a bunch of holiday decorations all over my house. Lately i've been trying to focus it in one place. Since I have my great new cabinets I have an iron wreath stand with a green wreath on it. I've decided that it will be decorated with all the different holiday themes and then I can set a few favorite pieces around it. Today I quickly, and I mean like in less than 10 minutes, I decorated it for Valentines Day. Here are the results... Oh except that I moved it from its home to photo it. It looked awful (in photos) against my window coverings in the craft room.

What i'm up to today

Hi Everyone... Today is a school holiday and its going to be a jammie day for us! I'm editing photos of the show and looking at new catalogs. Feeling really inspired and creative after seeing so many great new products. Also on the to do list is laundry (of course), snuggling, cupcakes, figure out how to make frosting from stuff we have on hand (i'm not going to the grocery) and also something for dinner! I'll have pictures loaded late tonight from the Sizzix booth. Hope your weekend was wonderful!

CHA has finally arrived

Craft wise today is one of my favorite days. At least since I started working for Sizzix. I really used to think that Die cuts were for old ladies. But now I see their full potential and I love my job at Sizzix. Today we will be decorating for the big trade show of the year. To see all of our work displayed on packaging, catalogs, the booth displays and so much more is very fulfilling. Beth, Debi, Cara and I and so many others have been working towards this day since, well this time last year and when the show ends Wednesday we'll start the process over again. Here is a sneak peek at two of the die lines Sizzix is releasing. There are 11 lines in total I think. Next week i'll have photos of the booth.

Venice Beach

This past weekend we decided spur of the moment to drive up the coast.  An awesome beach day, it was almost 80 degrees. We got as far as Venice and stopped to look around. Niguel was paranoid, she thought she was going to be kid napped and Kylah was tired of walking from the moment we started. This from kids who have traveled ALOT!!!! Aaaarrrrgggg! We saw some really interesting sites some of which are not appropriate for this blog and won't be posted. However here are a few...

I did have a beautiful carving of myself made by a local artist.  And I really wanted to bring this little guy home!

It was one weird place! I can now say i've been and I don't need to go back!

Operation Organize

Just before Christmas I finished up organizing and finding a home for the ridiculous amount of crafting stuff I own. Thanks to my very handy husband I now have not one but two of these huge cabinets from Ikea. They each are almost 10 feet long and they store away TONS of goodies. I have now become obsessed with putting things away. I clean as I go. If I get up from my table I put one or two things away and so far its working out pretty well. My space is much neater than it used to be and since my craft room is right smack in the middle of my house thats a good thing. Its in the middle of the house because its really a formal dining room, but we are very informal and almost never eat in there.

I also love the long seamless top so I can leave out my more attractive supplies like ribbon jars, cards, shells, my grandmas buttons. At first I was going to go for open shelving... so glad hubby found these they are so much better! On top of the other unit is small cabinet with stamp pads, a basket of mini albums, a wire piece for hanging decorative stuff  and a wreath stand.

 

I had more pictures... but i'll simply say that sometimes this blogging site just isn't as cooperative as I dream of it being.

True Love

Finally completed my "True Love" banner for Valentines Day!

     

 

   

 I have only 5 kits available. Go Here to purchase one if you're interested. This banner was created to give you year after year of use. It's very well constructed and sturdy. All the parts and pieces are included all you have to do is glitter, assemble and enjoy.  I couldn't stop with this banner, I also created a 12x12 double page spread Valentine kit. If you're getting something from the shop give some serious thought to the new Distress Stickles product... Its my new favorite glitter to use. When it dries it looks like little mica flakes, its not quite as iridescent as the regular Stickles. Have a great day! Its so beautiful here and the girls are off for the holiday.
