Christmas Lights tour

This weekend we went looking for fabulous Christmas lights. Went to our usual spot that everyone in town knows as Candy Cane Lane. Its a real spectacle, I so admire the work that goes into such a display. So much so that i'm going to share it with you.

I'm hibernating

I don't like cold weather much... I think its beautiful and all, especially from inside with my heater on. This is what I woke to after the three days of freezing rain cleared. It was extraordinary!

 

I'm still here just super busy with holiday stuff. Wrapping presents, baking, working on classes for 2009, trying to add a shopping cart to my blog (yuck, techno stuff!), and still working on stuff for CHA. So glad Christmas vacation starts tomorrow. Looking forward to being home with the girlies for two weeks! Happy Holidays! :)

More December Decorations

I love the way fancy trees look at shopping malls or big hotels but nothing beats the feel of your very own decorations. The ones that send you back in time to when you were 7 or 8 like this one for me. It is a little gingerbread music box. My mom gave it to me when it was being phased out of her decor. It plays about three notes before it makes this terrible screeching noise and skips the rest of the song, but I can remember the song in my head just the way it used to be. And heres another that Niguel whipped up. Its a little crooked but thats just the way I like my stuff, a little off :)

   

Rainy day

We're on Storm Watch here in So. California (which means that it is raining)! I saw some news clips of North Dakota yesterday and our Storm Watch is pathetic! None the less it is raining I miss the days that my kids were little and we would stay home in jammies all day. Then came the days of preschool and early elementary years when it would rain they'd get all excited because they could use their Dora the Explorer umbrellas. Now that they have outgrown Dora it's me that uses the tiny Dora umbrella because I can't bring myself to buy another umbrella since it only is needed about three times a year. Today I headed off early to work at Sizzix and Randy is home doing the getting ready for school thing. I feel so blessed and thankful that I get to be home to do that every day. I've only been gone a couple of hours and I miss them.  It was strange to kiss them goodbye while they were still sleeping, and it will be an even bigger surprise when they wake up and find out its daddy thats home today! I didn't do a lot of creative stuff since Christmas is just a few short days away, but I will post what I did do later tonight.  Hope your weekend was great!

Yummy ribbon candy

First I have a card for you! Celebrate today! I've been trying hard to celebrate everyday, i've been doing alot more of what I want to do and less of the need to do's. I'm liking it~ 

  

I saw this is a store and it knocked me straight back to the 70's. Standing in my Grandmas living room stuffing as much of this into my face as I could before someone came in. Of course I was wearing some kind of polyester from stretch and sew and my mom had a matching outfit. It doesn't taste as good as it looks but man is it pretty! 

Off to do some Christmas shopping online, my favorite way to shop, especially at Christmas. Have a lovely day! :)

I'm still here

just posting from an alternate location... my router is out on my computer. Tech support (hubby) went to bed and won't be avail. till between 4-8 tomorrow. Besides you should be getting ready for Christmas :) Have a wonderful day!

December Daily?

I think my December daily is going to be an online journal. So far anyway... My first days...

The Nativity, each year my sis in law Jill gets me a new figure. This poor baby Jesus needs a manger... Kylah arranges them so that it looks like the animals are tending to the baby. Everytime I move them they reappear like this.

My China hutch, the first thing that got decorated in my house. Little mittens were gift to the girls from my Aunt at Thanksgiving. They landed here when we came home.

Taking Christmas card photos. Its a dang good thing I have only two kids. I couldn't imagine trying to coordinate more. I took a little over 100 shots and I got 4 good ones.

This year Niguel announced that she had been waiting her whole life to be tall enough to put on the star with the ladder.
